John Byrne is the founder, CEO and majority owner of Raw Story Media, which publishes Raw Story. He served as the site's initial writer, editor and publisher until 2010. Prior to Raw Story, he attended Oberlin College and wrote for the Boston Globe and McClatchy Newspapers. He is also the founder and Executive Director of Prevention305, a Florida nonprofit focused on raising awareness of PrEP, the daily HIV prevention pill, and the owner of AlterNet Media, which publishes AlterNet.org and TheNewCivilRightsMovement.com.

Michael Rogers

Vice Chairman

Michael Rogers is the Vice Chairman and a partner in Raw Story Media, publisher of the online news site RawStory.com. Additionally, he is Vice Chairman and partner of Alternet Media, publishers of Alternet.org and TheNewCivilRightsMovement.com. He is co-host of The Raw Story Podcast with Mike Rogers & Shannyn Moore.

Wendy Greenlaw

Wendy Greenlaw is the Publisher of Raw Story and a veteran media executive with deep experience in both nonprofit and for-profit news. Formerly Chief Revenue Officer at The Daily Memphian, she led efforts to grow sustainable revenue and deepen community ties. A graduate of the Poynter Institute’s 2023 Leadership Academy for Women in Media, Greenlaw is committed to advancing innovation, inclusion, and digital transformation in journalism.

Adam Nichols

Adam Nichols is Raw Story's Executive Editor. He has more than 25 years of journalism experience, which includes working for the New York Daily News, the New York Post and DNAinfo, a startup site that covered NYC's neighborhoods. He was most recently Managing Editor at the hyperlocal website Patch. Originally from the U.K., Adam moved to the U.S. in 2003.

Daniel Hampton

Executive Editor

Dan is Executive Editor at Raw Story producing and editing breaking political news. Dan previously worked as a news associate at The Associated Press in Philadelphia, and later as local editor, breaking news editor and eventually manager at Patch, overseeing the company’s breaking news and Long Island/Hudson Valley teams. A native of Colorado and the Philadelphia area, Dan graduated with a degree in journalism from Temple University.

David McAfee

Managing Editor

David joined Raw Story in 2023 after nearly a decade of writing about the legal industry for Bloomberg Law. He is also a co-founder and a commissioning editor at Hypatia Press, a publisher that specializes in philosophical works that challenge religion or spirituality.

Tom Boggioni

Tom Boggioni is a writer, born, raised and living in San Diego — where he attended San Diego State University. Prior to writing for Raw Story, he wrote for FireDogLake, blogged as TBogg, and worked in banking, marketing and construction.

He previously worked as a web editor for WLWT-TV and a contributing writer for the Kentucky Enquirer, and he also wrote for the award-winning Sadly, No! blog. He has covered national, state and local politics, breaking news, criminal investigations and trials, sports and a variety of community issues, with a special emphasis on racial justice, right-wing extremism and gun safety.

He’s also handy with a drill and hammer from his years working in construction.
